![]() For Halloween, I made this arrangement in a French flower bucket. I used dried pods (found while walking) that were naturally black, Dead flowers of many types, including Heliconia and Banksia. I added a touch of preserved fall color leaves and fresh mini eucalyptus. A fun and inexpensive way to greet your trick or Treaters!

![]() Hi Friends, It’s Harvest time in Beautiful Marin County. The Farmer’s market is full of abundant products and the Flower Market is gearing up for the busy autumn holidays. One of my many favorite things is the magnificent colors that the local Hydrangea turn. All shades of Blue, Celadon green, Dark rose and Burgundy. I am enjoying doing the Halloween decorations at some of my favorite client’s house this week. Halloween decoration is often traditional, with pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, autumn wreaths on doors to greet your “Trick or Treaters”. These items stay as November decorations. I always like to add the crazy, decadent and whimsical for the Halloween party decorations. Because you are aiming for scary, it’s fun to think “outside the box”. Have fun with your own decorating! I would love to see the things you come up with. Feel free to email me pictures of your favorite Halloween costumes and decorations at cjmiller@marinfloralstudio.com. Just a little Green.
My friends are still telling people the story of how Marin Floral Studio began. Though we got our official start in May, we are still growing. Our website is the next step toward reaching out to my friends and contacts, some of whom have not heard from me since my transition from Flower shop clerk to Business owner. I guess this was a natural and logical move, responding to my love of flowers and design and the desire to work with the best in this thriving local industry. The people I work with understand the passion and commitment I bring as well as an appreciation for all who love flowers. The true pleasure comes from bringing my fabulous products and talent to the table. Whether I sold you your son’s prom corsage (which made for a magical night) or delivered the most resplendent arrangements to your favorite restaurant for your “landmark” birthday party, I became your neighborhood florist. My purpose here is to connect with you and introduce the abundant seasonal flowers the bay area has to offer. To have a conversation about flowers. To share the experience and emotion that sending and receiving flowers evokes. So I have followed a clear path to launching this website. I have been able to present the things which I love, Photography, Flowers, Beautiful locations in the county, Flower farming and commerce, Food. I have been able to partner with the people I love, my family especially, to pursue a higher goal which I could not attain alone. In the future, I am acquiring, and will be sharing, my friend’s photos and stories, which demonstrate our connection to flowers, nature and culture. I want to share information about seasonal flowers, plants and floral decoration and experience the changes of the seasons as seen through my camera. To my Family, Friends and most importantly, my Clients, who gave me the freedom to create Marin Floral Studio, Thank you for joining me on this journey. I would like to encourage you to send comments, stories and photos of your own favorite flowers (and more). This will keep our site lively, changing, and interesting. Catherine |
